Quiet streets where the signs do the shouting.
Osaka's infamous Shinsekai district is the embodiment of a visual smorgasbord, home to the iconic Tsutenkatu Tower and tons of ostentatious signage. Shinsekai, meaning 'New World', was designed in the early 1900s as a funfair, modelled after cities like New York and Paris. It fell into post-war ruin giving it a bit of a seedy reputation, but has since been restored to something resembling its former glory.
