At first glance, you could be mistaken for thinking that you'd stumbled across the favelas of Rio when entering the Gamcheon Culture Village. This prominent Busan tourist attraction is well-known for its winding alleys, colourful murals and brightly painted houses.

More impressively, it's an authentic representation of coastal Korean life, as many locals still reside here on the hills of this former shanty town.
