I've always beens smitten by big cities. Especially big cities with personality. I think this explains my initial attraction to places like Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo and Saigon, and perhaps why I miss Johannesburg so much. I'm not quite sure what is; the unrelenting pulse of energy, the sheer tenacity of residents (regardless of their class) scrapping to see another day, or the monolithic structures to which we ascribe importance and authority.
