When it comes to running, track workouts are often neglected. Runners tend to focus on 'easier' workouts – 5km, 10km and even half marathon training runs, while neglecting high intensity track workouts because they think it won't benefit them when it comes to distance running.

The opposite is true though – every runner should incorporate track workouts because they build lung capacity (think about pushing yourself at full tilt for a mile).

As part of re-introducing our Braamfie Runners track sessions in 2017, I took to the University of Johannesburg athletics stadium with two veteran crew members, Yusuf Stemela and Tshepo Badimo, to do a two-man shoot around the track. This is what we created.
